And I realized that the class that I took didn’t just give me a rudimentary understanding of the very basics of quantum mechanics. I actually realized something much more deeply disturbing about myself which was I’d never really been taught critical thinking skills before. I never really considered how to evaluate evidence. I always thought being smart meant you knew a lot of things or that you did what the teacher told you to do really really well, not that you had this mechanism for filtering information.
